Terms & Conditions

  • The images on IDEM can be consulted without charge.
  • High resolution download of the images is not allowed. Photographic reproductions must be requested from the holding institution where the corresponding manuscript(s) or printed book(s) is (are) preserved.
  • The images integrated in IDEM are copyright protected. This implies that for every publication - either in printed form or online, for media use or within the scope of events (including exhibitions) - the holding institution concerned should be contacted in advance. The permission for publication is subject to the holding institution's conditions and requirements.
  • Unless mentioned otherwise, every publication of the images should be accompanied by the mention Copyright [name of the holding institution] ([location of the holding institution)] / Alamire Digital Lab (Leuven).
  • Images may not be transmitted to third parties or re-used for publication unless with consent of the holding institution concerned.
  • The Alamire Foundation is not responsible for any illegitimate use by third parties of the images included in IDEM.
